         In the Arts Stream, a student is allowed to take Major in one of the following subjects:

Assamese, Arabic, Economics, Education, English, Hindi, History, Geography, philosophy, Political Science, Mathematics and Sanskrit.

         In the Science stream, Major is allowed in one of the following subjects:

Botany, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Zoology.

 In case of Science stream, there will be no English subject. There will be two practical papers of 50 marks each Elective subject.
            In case of Arts stream, there will be English, MIL & two Elective subjects as in part I (First year)

2.3. DEGREE COURSE PART II (SECOND YEAR) MAJOR
       
The subject Environmental Science of one hundred marks is compulsory.
In case of science stream there will be no English subject. In Arts stream there will be English. MIL and two papers each of Ist Elective Major subject. There will be an oral Examination in Sanskrit.

2.4. DEGREE COURSE PART III MAJOR
        A student has to study the Major subject only.

2.5. DEGREE COURSE PART III GENERAL
       
There will be two papers each of two elective subjects in Arts. In Science, there will be two theory papers and one practical paper each of two elective subjects.
